Building on the success of the first Multispecies FIP in Vietnam - FIP Vung Tau, partners from the fishmeal and feed industry of the southern coastal provinces of Vietnam have contacted for the establishment of a second Multispecies FIP.

The first exploratory meeting with partners in Kien Giang province was carried out around April 2022. However, due to various difficulties from many sides, FIP Kien Giang did not happen. Instead, with ongoing efforts from the old partners (from FIP Kien Giang) to the new partners, the second Multispecies FIP project in Vietnam have successfully promoted, named FIP Ca Mau.

Sharing the same purpose as other Multispecies FIPs, FIP Vung Tau for example, FIP Ca Mau aims to help fishmeal companies in Ca Mau in meeting requirements regarding responsible sourcing of marine raw materials and to qualify to be a part of the aquaculture value chain for export, starting from the starting chain actor - aqua feed companies. This means that the FIP Ca Mau members will provide the necessary resources to support and promote sustainable fisheries in the Ca Mau province.
